Twin Flame marked a significant endeavor for Shamita Siva as a movement artist, writer, and producer. Co-written with Ida Ghatge in 2020, the project took nearly three years to fully realise, from initial concept to final edits. Initially reluctant to take on the lead role of Kali, the production team and Ida were convinced that Shamita was the ideal choice to bring the depth and authenticity the character required.

Shamita's expertise in choreographing and performing solo pieces that demanded a grounded, creature-like energy was well established. However, the challenge of mastering Indian Classical dance (Bharatanatyam) was initially daunting. With basic experience in Bharatanatyam through Sapphire Dance Co., Shamita was committed to delivering an accurate portrayal, crucial to the film's narrative. Under the expert guidance of Govind Pillai, she and Ida brought the dynamic characters of Kali and Parvati vividly to life.

Since its release, Twin Flame has garnered international recognition, securing awards and nominations at festivals such as NYIFA (New York), Beyond the Curve (France), Inspired Dance (Sydney), and an honourable mention at Sensei Film Fest (Japan).
